Welcome to Covington Partners In Prevention!
Covington Partners in Prevention was founded in 1999 to reduce drug abuse and violence among Covington youth. Since that time, we've expanded our offerings to include a variety of mentoring, family strengthening, and physical/mental health programs. Every aspect of this Coalition's work is focused solely on supporting the children of Covington.
Who are we exactly? We are a combination of dedicated individuals, organizations, and board members committed to the collaborative work of planning, funding, implementing, and evaluating initiatives to benefit the youth and the future of Covington. Since our inception, we have:
-
conducted campaigns to increase youth leadership in schools and the community
-
provided mentors for students in need of support
-
promoted policies to improve the safety of our children in and out of school
-
implemented programming to help families support their children's learning processes
-
provided needed training and resources for school staff and administrators
Get Involved Today!
Covington Partners in Prevention offers multiple ways that you can get involved to benefit the youth of Covington:
- Become a mentor. We have opportunities for you to work with children and teens of all ages, just to sit and chat, perhaps eat lunch, go to a movie, or help with homework.
- Join us as a parent partner. Come to a Parent Advisory Council meeting to get more involved.
- Become a partner in prevention. Join us and many other partners that are willing to provide resources or financial support to our youth programs by attending a Covington Partners in Prevention Coalition meeting this month.
- Donate materials. Do you have school supplies, perhaps some hats and mittens, or some extra cash you'd like to donate? Covington Partners in Prevention distributes materials throughout the year to teachers and youth in Covington.
- Share your good news. We would love to hear your good news about Covington youth and share it with the community.
- Subscribe to our e-Update. Our quarterly e-Update will help you stay informed about Covington Partners in Prevention's latest programs, events, and initiatives.
